Balancing Nature and People

Is it Possible to Visit Dophins without Hurting Them?

The last 80 or so Mekong River Dolphins are central to a project taking on poverty by attracting visitors to two of Cambodia's poorest provinces.

Explore Asia supports this project, which at first, seems to be an oxymoron.

SNV, a respected NGO in Southeast Asia, is involved in this unique plan to divert locals to tourism and agriculture jobs and away from the over-fishing that is depleting the last survivors of this amazing species.

Since increased tourism will happen without planning, we support thoughtfully conceived projects that work with this delicate balance between nature and people.

So, do you think this balance is possible?
