Experiences to Have Before You Die
If your travel list is a check off of places you want to visit in the world, you’re likely to be
disappointed.
If it’s about experiences you want in those places that will enrich your life, that’s something
else.
In a podcast I did recently with Vikas Rustagi of Tourism India, he referred to the difference
in “sight seeing” and “sight doing.”
Memories are passive “feel goods”, like flipping through an album of each place you have
visited.
Immersive experiences change, enrich and intensify our lives because they influence our
relationship to the planet and its peoples and we are the better for it.
There I go sounding evangelical and I am! The most important thing you will pack for your trip
is an attitude of openness, ready for adventures that surprise, delight and perplex
you.
