Saving Asia's Forests

Hug a Tree, Save a Tree

Trees and humans are in an intimate relationship. What they exhale, we inhale, what we exhale, they inhale. This is a constant relationship that nobody can afford to break or live without. Sadhguru

Moving beyond the esoteric, it's a simple concept of minimizing the paper products you use when you travel -- the same way you do at home.

What is beautiful to me is the Buddhist practice of activist monks tying a wide swath of orange or yellow cloth around old growth trees. Observant Buddhist are forced to consider these trees as off limits, even if they are loggers eager to earn a day's wages.

When you see monks on the morning rounds, in undulating rows of orange and yellow, remember they aren't just religious leaders. They are environmental leaders as well.
