Guess Who Leads the Health and Wellness Market?

02/18/2008 1:32 pm

While the US isn’t a sloucher in the statistics game with 50 million of us who not only have the will but the clout to help change the world for good. America is no match for the tidal wave of the health and wellness market in Asia.

Not surprisingly, Japan leads all of Asia with 30% of the population living the under the Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) banner.

Here's Why It Doesn't Matter

Statistics aside, I see this is a positive thing for Americans traveling to Asia.

Instead of traveling to places where my values are hard to act on, when I go to Asia, their rich wellness traditions makes me feel right at home in cultures dramatically different than mine.

I’m hoping the LOHAS tidal wave in Asia keeps building – the world benefits and so do I.

Here’s to Living Well and Doing Good!
